Why TWIA doesn’t offer Judging Feedback
Whilst we do provide each entrant with their Voter feedback, we do sometimes get requests for Judging Feedback. Unfortunately we are not able to do this for two main reasons:
- We tried this back in 2018 and 2019. Judging Feedback was given anonymously but that didn’t stop some entrants who were unhappy with their feedback trolling all the judges on their category panel on social media. Our judges are volunteers so we cannot have a situation where being a judge is detrimental in any way, so we were forced to stop the provision of judging feedback.
- It is extremely difficult to collect and provide meaningful feedback from 160 judges on approx 1400 entrants. It’s a skill not everyone has and it’s extremely time consuming for judges to give. As I say, they are volunteers and already give a huge amount of time to the TWIA process.
Of course, many excellent wedding business owners offer mentoring programs but, again, this is not something that TWIA is able to offer.
It is also worth noting that it is extremely rare for any awards to give any sort of feedback. I know the Voter Feedback (available after the National Winners have been announced) is extremely useful to entrants, and we are pleased to be able to provide this valuable resource.
