TWIA 2015 New Judges: Best Marquee Supplier Category

There are a number of new faces on The Wedding Industry Awards judging panel this year, all of whom we believe to be adding expertise, prestige and knowledge to the process of assessing each entry. We’re sure that you’re going to be just as excited to have these esteemed people looking at your business as we are to have them as part of the team. A lot of planning time here at TWIA HQ has been invested in courting these prestigious names because we believe them to be at the very forefront of their fields and, therefore, qualified to look objectively at entrants in TWIA 2015. 

There’ll be plenty of time for them to get to know more about you and your business, but for now, acquaint yourself with some of our freshmen judges…

Jon Parr MD, Tentipi

Jon is the Managing Director of Tentipi Ltd, the exclusive distributor of the Tentipi® Nordic Tipi tents in the UK and Ireland. Jon started in the industry in 2004, launching The Stunning Tents Company, which brought the first Giant Hat Tipi into the UK hire market. Since then his businesses have grown rapidly and he has helped 30 other rental companies become established using the same type of tent. Giant Hat Tipis are now a regular sight at weddings, parties and festivals across the country. In 2009, Jon joined MUTA’s Executive Council to represent the interests of members running smaller businesses.

Adrian Dann
 MD, Danco Plc

Adrian has worked in the marquee hire sector for over 40 years. He is the Managing Director of Danco plc, which is one of the largest privately owned marquee companies in the UK. 
Danco plc supply marquees, specialist structures and ancillary equipment to public and corporate events, operating both nationally and internationally. Adrian is one of the longest serving MUTA council members, and has been involved in most of the regulatory documentation and guidance that MUTA has produced and been involved with in the last few decades.

Bernadette Chapman Owner, Dream Occasions and co-founder of the UKAWP

Bernadette owns Dream Occasions in Essex and has been organising weddings and events since 2002. . She has been featured on TV and radio, as well as in numerous national publications. Dream Occasions are respected for their expertise in the logistics involved in marquee functions and Bernadette hosts workshops for fellow wedding planners on this topic. Bernadette co-founded the UKAWP in 2004 and is the Education Director. She has written a number of articles and training courses and mentors new planners entering the industry. She is also the co-author of “Wedding Planning for Dummies – UK Edition” which was published Spring 2014.
